Default need a little help

hi

After a 2month break from gw i decided to load the game backup and play.

i saw there was a hm so with normal being so easy i decided to try it. All went well with all of my 7 charactors until Nightfallen and Domain of Fear etc,
I get totally pawned with all classes.

So, i know by lots of posts on gw guru that there are many players who have had no trouble with hard mode in these areas they post on how they pawned hm.
Please post your builds that you defeated these areas with, as i have mentioned already i have charactor of every class that has beaten this game so any charactor build will do.

Or even better you could meet me in game and i would team with you and then you could show me how easy it is that way! just leave your in game name and i will msg you this week.

Thankyou to any gamer that can help me.

If you can't even complete the campaign, don't even think about Hard Mode.

Yup, he got pwned in RoT, so HM is not something for him. I agree fully with #2

zinger and zexion, he said he complete the campaigns and that he was having trouble with RoT HM, not normal RoT. As to helping in there, I dont know. Frankly I hate the place and dont plan on going there unless I absolutely, positively have to. But in other HM places I bring two healing monks and a prot monk or one healing monk, one protect monk, and a prot rit. My general strategy is that I can outlast them and watch my agro for oncoming patrols.

hi

onerabbit:
when i tryed with my warrior i used proc spirit but even though i stayed alive for a little longer than my hero's and hench it did not help. thx though for the advice.

.....

zinger314 and zexion:
it's seems that you two have no trouble in the realm of torment, i congratulate you both on your gaming skills.
maybe one of you could party with me and show me your gaming prowess defeating these groups.
i will if you don't mind send you a private message with my charactor names maybe then you could msg me ingame or if you are not on europe then we could meet in the international districts.
i can play any proffession and i have all skills unlocked on every charactor so i can build any build you need.

i look forward to clearing the domain of fear with one of you!.

......

i will post back in this thread later on in the week and tell everybody how we managed to beat this area.

thx again.

Now wait just a Bob Saggit minute, something doesn't add up.

I only know what works with ~3 classes.

For monk, just go all out protection. Healing won't do squat because by the time you cast the uber-powerful Orison, they are already dead.

For Ele, Searing Flames works wonders.

For Nec, SS and [skill=text]Enfeebling Blood[/skill] are magic.

He said he beat the game with all his characters.

To OP: The thing about HM is that what works in one place will not work everywhere. You'll have to learn what it takes to counter the mobs you'll meet in any given mission or explorable area. Taking Norgu set up as an interrupter for caster-heavy areas may be a great strategy. Using more defensive skills (wards, etc.) in your team builds may be what's needed.

This doesn't really make sense.

By design, you can't access/unlock Hard Mode unless you have beaten the given campaign on at least one character.

I haven't tried RoT in hard mode at all, so I can't give advice from experience, all I can do is offer up the heroes bars I've been using for hard mode elsewhere with great success. I'm completely unaware of if or how well they work there, but it's always worth at least a try, I guess?

Me/Mo Inspiration:
Clumsiness
Ineptitude
Signet of Clumsiness
Power Drain
Dismiss Condition
Inspired Hex
Revealed Hex
Rebirth (or res chant)

Me/Mo Domination:
Empathy
Hex Eater Vortex
Guilt/Shame
Signet of Disruption
Power Drain
Power Spike (or Leech Sig, Diversion, Wastrel's Demise, Shatter Hex)
Inspired Hex
Rebirth (or res chant)

N/Me Curses:
Price of Failure
Reckless Haste
Spiteful Spirit
Enfeeble (or enfeebling blood if you prefer, I guess)
Inspired Hex (depending on how hex heavy the area, sometimes Spirit of Failure instead)
Signet of Lost Souls
Blood Rit
Res sig

N/Me Blood:
Arcane Echo
Spoil Victor
Vamp Gaze
Well of Blood
Blood of the Aggressor (or Strip Enchantment, Shadow Strike, Life Siphon)
Signet of Lost Souls
Blood Rit
Res Sig

E/Mo:
Fire Attunement
Searing Flames
Glowing Gaze
Meteor Shower
Liquid Flame
Draw Conditions
Heal Party
Rebirth

Rit:
Mend Body and Soul
Spirit Light
Ghostmirror Light
Wielder's Boon
Weapon of Warding
Preservation
Mighty Was Vorizun (Generous Was Tsungrai or Blind Was Mingson, depending on the area)
Flesh of My Flesh

W/Me:
Crippling Slash
Gash
Final Thrust
Distracting Blow
Open slot (it changes constantly depending on the area and what I think I'll need)
Elemental Resistance
Physical Resistance (in both of these, Koss uses them well, so I leave it so he can use them himself)
Res Sig

P/W (the Paragon's bar in entirety is subject to the area and which other heroes I have at the time):
Song of Power
Song of Restoration
Aria of Zeal
Ballad of Restoration
Mending Refrain
Fall Back!
Anthem of Envy
Signet of Return

R/any
Broad Head Arrow, Barrage, Punishing Shot or Crippling Shot
Screaming Shot
Distracting Shot
Savage Shot
Needling Shot (or Pin Down)
Favorable Winds (or Winnowing)
Whirling Defense
Res Sig

I've got water ele, air ele, earth ele builds, a few other specific paragon builds, couple of warrior, rit and monk builds but I figured this was already long enough.

Like I said, no idea if they'll work but at least they're some ideas and I can vouche for their effectiveness elsewhere. If you really need help, message me in game (Forsira Hart). I can't guarantee I'll be around to help though.

It's all very Judo-like: turn an opponent's force to one's own advantage rather than to oppose it directly.

This is what makes game play in Guild Wars interesting. Because you take a real concept like stated above and apply it to combat. Eek, having Karate Kid flashbacks...

But, practicing the art of being "gentle/yielding/compliant" as a means to defeat powerful foes is highly effective.

When the ferocity of an attack is reflected back at the attacker, when protective spells that absorb or deflect damage are used versus trying to out heal the damage, when bending like a reed in the wind is preferable to standing rigid like an oak... hehe

All these tactics and more blend together to make these areas drastically more manageable. And, limiting the number of enemies you fight at one time, helps as well

Alright, alright, I misread the OP. I still only get a 600 on the Reading section on the SATs, shut up.
